Description: Communicate timely and accurate information to membership regarding programs, social events and overall member value through IAEE strategic initiatives, and support membership initiatives in the DC Chapter.

General Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all IAEE branding guidelines
- Manage the publications, marketing, advertising, public relations, and other channels for monthly and special events, young professionals events, community outreach, advocacy efforts, and membership initiatives of the chapter including:
- Marketing – website content, email marketing, social media, and other digital and print channels
- Publications – newsletter, blog, annual business report
- Advertising – newsletter ads, website ads
- Public Relations – media relations, press releases

- Community Outreach – Support communications for philanthropic activities, including volunteer programs with local charity, national programs, and donations via other programs (event registration, etc.)
- Advocacy – government affairs – Support communications for advocacy efforts of the Chapter
- Ensure chapter programs, activities and accomplishments are highlighted on the international level by communicating with the director of membership and chapter engagement
- Research current communication/technology trends and topics pertinent to the meetings industry and report findings to Board of Directors
Committee Leads:
Website:
- Website content development to communicate education and special events, past events and recordings / presentations / materials, community outreach, and advocacy efforts, ensure timely updates, and additional content development that keep site fresh and informative and drives traffic
- Facilitate the development of promotion content for monthly events, special events, and community outreach programs (description, takeaways, etc.)
- Develop blog post content about topics presented at events and other topics of interest to members and nonmembers
- Perform annual review of chapter website to ensure its efficiency as a primary chapter communications device
- Promote chapter website to members/nonmembers
- Ensure all chapter sponsor fulfillment requirements are met on the website (banner ads, logos, etc.)
Marketing (digital and print):
- Develop editorial calendar for all channels and events / programs
- Provide open channel of communications with all committees to ensure flow of information for newsletter or other materials for the membership
- Develop email campaigns to promote events, programs, and membership
- Develop social media campaigns to promote events, programs, and membership
- Facilitate content development, proofreading, design, and production of chapter printed materials to ensure professional appearance and consistent “look” of the chapter brand
- Provide speakers and sponsors marketing materials to promote events to their contacts
- Ensure all chapter sponsor fulfillment requirements are met in marketing materials (logos, etc.)
- Develop banner and online ads to promote chapter events and programs as needed
Publications:
- Coordinate all details of content development, publishing, and distributing quarterly eNewsletter, including chapter and industry news, chapter events, and other information relevant to members and nonmembers
- Facilitate the development of blog post content that is relevant and educational for members and nonmembers
- Assist in the development of the annual report
- Perform a review of annual publications to ensure efficacy and relevance of chapter communications tools
Public Relations:
- Develop press releases for new board and other relevant news of the chapter
- Develop media list for press release distribution and maintain relationships with media contacts
Other Initiatives:
- Assist in creating and emailing member and nonmember surveys to obtain feedback and ideas for event topics of interest, speakers, and types of events desired, analyzing data, and presenting results to Board
- Assist in creating and sending post-event attendee surveys, analyzing data, and presenting results to Board
- Assist in membership drive initiatives to promote the chapter value to nonmembers
Time Commitment:
- Regular attendance at board and/or committee meetings
- Attendance at chapter annual retreat
- Attendance at chapter activities and functions
- Commitment time (1-5 hours per month)
